For those of you who are not already aware of the EDGE Services ‘Get Focused’ training events, the day begins with a group session discussing key hazards in the care sector and an introduction to risk assessment and the law before moving on in the afternoon to a series of pre-elected workshops: ‘People Handling’, ‘Personal Safety Awareness’ and ‘Risk Assessment Skills’. Each of the workshops are interactive, giving delegates the opportunity to ask questions and share experiences and each delegate leaves the sessions with a cohesive set of handouts which provide a detailed account of the information covered.
We are pleased to announce that the line-up for the next ‘Get Focused’ event in Glasgow is going to include a workshop focussing specifically on ‘Children Handling’ discussing specific legislation and demonstrating a selection of moving and handling equipment.
We are planning to continue running our ‘Get Focused’ events at locations throughout the UK, changing the topics and specialist subjects covered during the training workshops periodically so that every person attending can really benefit from attending. The first of these events will run on Monday 22 November 2007 in Manchester. For more details please contact our coordinator Kathryn at khardy@edgeservices.co.uk or add our website www.edgeservices.co.uk to your ‘Favourites List’ and check regularly for announcements so that you don’t miss out.
