We are pleased to inform you that EDGE Services have recently received confirmation that, with effect from 1st December 2009, four of our key courses have received academic accreditation from Open College Network (OCN) Credit4Learning.
OCN Credit4Learning offer a high quality national accreditation service for all types of learning and all types of learners. OCN Credit4Learning are a national network of members and users: colleges of further and higher education, universities, local authorities, schools, voluntary and community organisations, work-based learning providers, NHS Trusts, trade unions, prisons and offender learning groups, charities and commercial businesses. They give a diverse range of users the opportunity to provide learners with nationally recognized credits for all courses and training programmes and celebrate their achievements.
The following four courses have been accredited at level 3 which is the equivalent of ‘A’ level. One credit is for ten learning hours.
- People Handling & Risk Assessment Key Trainer’s Certificate - accredited at level 3 carrying 4 credits.
- People Handling & Risk Assessment Key Trainer’s Certificate (Refresher/Update) – accredited at level 3 with 2 credits.
- Managing Challenging Behavior in the Workplace – Trainer’s Certificate – accredited at level 3 with 4 credits.
- Managing Challenging Behavior in the Workplace – Trainer’s Certificate (Refresher/Update) – accredited at level 3 with 2 credits. (Even though this is a one day course learning hours are not just contact with the trainer but include homework and background reading etc.)
Please note that the ‘transferable’ nature of learning hours etc is very useful for attending delegates for their further learning and the development of professional portfolios and NVQ/SVQ portfolios.
The OCN Credit4Learning Credits earned on accredited courses are recognised by colleges and universities throughout the UK, and are categorised as ‘Underpinning Knowledge.’ Using a course accredited by OCN Credit4Learning has numerous benefits for the attending delegate.
